Never invent a fact
No price we have not seen, no milligram we cannot read off the panel, no invented testimonial, no study we have not opened. A blank is more useful than a plausible number, and on this label there are a great many blanks.
Say not published, out loud
Nine things about this product were not published to us, starting with the individual amount of every single ingredient. They are listed in full rather than left as gaps in a paragraph.
Never write FDA approved
The FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they are sold. We write “made in an FDA-registered facility” and explain what a registration is.
Transcribe rather than tidy
Every line on our supplement-facts page is typed from the photograph exactly as printed, including spacing and capitalisation. Silently tidying a manufacturer's label is a small dishonesty that makes every other transcription on a site less trustworthy.

How we researched Horse Mood
We started with photographs of the bottle: the front, the Supplement Facts panel on the back, the directions and warnings panel on the side, and the brand's own marketing panels. Everything on the ingredients and supplement-facts pages is transcribed from those.
The usual second step was not available. On most labels you take each printed amount and compare it against a reference dose. This panel publishes one amount for eight ingredients, so there was nothing to divide, and the absence became the story instead of a footnote to it.
So we did the next best thing. For each of the eight we found the dose the research actually used, and asked whether the entire 1,200 mg blend could cover it if that one ingredient took all of it. That question is on the ingredients page, and for five of the eight the answer is that no dose has been established at all.
Reading the sources properly changed two conclusions we expected to reach. The human pharmacokinetic trial of icariin found blood levels below 1 ng/mL at every dose from 100 mg to 1,680 mg, which matters more than any dosing argument about horny goat weed. And the tongkat ali trial turned out to be better than we assumed: randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, 105 men, twelve weeks.
Finally we read the commercial material for what was not in it. That is where the notes on price, the certificate and the distributor address came from, and it is the part of the research that moved the desk's rating most.
